The Visit by His Excellency Halldor Asgrimsson, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iceland (Unofficial Translation) No:51- April 12, 2000

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iceland H. E. Halldor Asgrimsson will pay an official visit to Turkey on April 19- 20, 2000, upon the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H. E. İsmail Cem.

During the talks between the delegations to be headed by the two Ministers, bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues are expected to be taken up. " A Memorandum for the Establishment of a Political Consultation Mechanism between Turkish and Icelandic Ministries of Foreign Affairs " is also scheduled to be exchanged.

The visiting Minister will be received by the President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Süleyman Demirel and by Prime Minister, H.E. Bülent Ecevit.
