The Summit Meeting Between Republic Korea and People´s Republic of Korea No:52 - April 13, 2000

We are pleased that an arrangement between the President of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Kim Dae-jung and the Chairman of the National Defence Committee of the People's Republic of Korea, H.E. Kim Jong-Il was reached to hold meetings in Pyongyang on June 12-14, 2000 in accordance with the "South-North Agreement" signed on April 8, 2000.

We consider this historic Summit Meeting as a crucial step forward in the efforts aiming at reaching conciliation, cooperation and unification in the Korean Peninsula and we wish to see that it will create concrete results which will contribute to the success of these endevours.
