The Draft Law on the so-called Armenian Genocide in the French Parliament (Unofficial Translation) No:20 - February 24, 2000

The proposal to bring the draft law which has been adopted by the French Assembly on 29 May 1998 that foresees the recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide to the agenda has been rejected in today’s (22th of February) Chairmen’s Conference of French Senate.

The refusal of the French Senate to include in its agenda a draft law which is inaccurate in all senses is considered as the right attitude.

It is also pleasing to observe the confirmation of the existence of mutual political will to further advance the Turkish-French relations that have been developing rapidly in recent times.
