NO-84 - 22 May 2008, Press Release Regarding the Biased and False Allegations Regarding Turkey in the International Press (Unofficial Translation)
We have observed that biased and false allegations regarding Turkey have been made in advertisements placed in the international press by a marginal group that prefers terrorist rhetoric and tactics instead of democratic activity based on legitimacy and law in Turkey.

The most important obstacle in front of the reform process pursued by our Government for further developing individual rights and freedoms, without doubt, is the terrorist organisation which is targeting by resorting to violence the territorial integrity, constitutional order and social peace of our country.

The fact that among the signatories of this advertisement are members of the terrorist organization sought by INTERPOL Red Bulletin, and that none of the representatives of sincere and independent civil society organizations striving for democratization and improvement of individual rights and freedoms in our country are among the signatories, reveal the identity and aims of the advertisers.

This group has put forward conditions for the ending of terrorist acts by an organization determined to be a terrorist entity also by the EU and the US. As such, its attempts to look abroad for lost domestic support and ground will prove to be fruitless.
