President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Süleyman Demirel is going to pay an official visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina on December 6-7, 1999 upon the invitation of the Presidential Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
President Demirel will exchange views with the leaders of each of the founding peoples (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian) of the Presidential Council on bilateral relations and the implementation stage of the Dayton Peace Accord which brought freedom to the country. President Demirel will also pay a visit to the Turkish Task Force deployed in Zenica.
The "Cooperation Agreement on Combating International Terrorism, Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs and Substances and Organized Crime" and the "Protocol on Establishment and Functioning of Cultural Centers" between Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina will be signed during the visit.
The aim of the visit of President Demirel is to further develop and enhance the existing bilateral relations with Bosna-Herzegovina with which Turkey shares historical, cultural and sentimental ties.
