The President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Süleyman Demirel will pay an official visit to Tbilisi on 14-15 January 2000 upon the invitation of the President of Georgia, H.E. Eduard Shevardnadze.

H.E. Süleyman Demirel will be accompanied during this visit by a delegation consisting of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Cumhur Ersümer, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ismail Cem and the Minister of Housing, H.E. Koray Aydın, members of Parliament, Foreign Ministry officials and businessmen.

During the visit, views on regional and international developments concerning both countries will be exchanged, opportunities will be explored in order to further improve in a multidimensional manner the existing highest level of bilateral relations and to strengthen cooperation between the two countries bilaterally, as well as in international fora .

This visit to Georgia, with which we maintain excellent friendship and neighborly ties, will contribute to further improve our existing cordial and warm relations in all fields.
