We consider that it is extremely objectionable to create the impression that the accession process of the Greek Cypriot Administration to the EU under the usurped title of the "Republic of Cyprus" would be pursued even if the talks on the Cyprus issue do not yield a result. Turkey's position on this matter is well-known. This position will remain unchanged.

The existence of two separate states in Cyprus is an undeniable fact. The special relationship and the bonds between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue to run in parallel to the attitude to be adopted by the EU towards the Cyprus issue.
