1. STATEMENT OF THE GERMAN MINISTRY OF INTERIOR
(February 16, 1999)

Mr. Otto Schily, the German Minister of Interior: "... In the interest of public order in the Federal Republic of Germany, such actions cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. The participants will have face the consequences of their activities. Committed crimes will be persecuted consequently and with all necessary hardness.

2. ANA-ATHENS NEWS AGENCY

The president (Greek President Kostis Stephanopoulos) asked his Austrian counterpart Thomas Klestil to exercise his influence on the country's justice minister in order for Kurdish protesters not to be persecuted if they released hostages in the Greek embassy.
