Foreign Minister of Poland Witold Waszczykowski paid a working visit to Turkey on 20 April 2016 upon the invitation of Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu.

Foreign Minister Waszczykowski, who met with Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu, was also received by President Erdoğan, Speaker of the Parliament Kahraman and Prime Minister Davutoğlu during his visit. In the meetings, bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues were discussed.

At the joint press conference, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined the goal of further strengthening of bilateral relations. Referring to the NATO Summit to be held this year in Warsaw, he also stressed that cooperation with Poland in NATO will continue. Foreign Minister Waszczykowski underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation and reiterated Poland’s support to Turkey’s EU membership process.
