Third Day of the 8th Ambassadors Conference

Third day of the 8th Ambassadors Conference started with the session on Cyprus where Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş and former Foreign Minister and current Negotiator of TRNC Özdil Nami addressed our Ambassadors. Following this session, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey İsmail Kahraman hosted a reception for Ambassadors at the Grand National Assembly.

In the afternoon session of the 8th Ambassadors Conference, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak delivered a speech on Turkey’s energy policy and the ongoing projects on energy. Following this address, a panel meeting titled “Crisis Management: Humanitarion Solutions” was chaired by the Deputy Foreign Minister Naci Koru. President of AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) Fuat Oktay, President of TİKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) Serdar Çam, President of the YTB (Turks Abroad and Related Communities) Kudret Bülbül and Director General of Foundations Adnan Ertem spoke at the said panel.

Within the scope of the Conference, Chilean Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz addressed our Ambassadors and answered their questions. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu and his Chilean counterpart then opened the exhibition in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, held on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations.

In the context of the Conference, a panel titled “Humanitarian Issues: Root Causes and Possible Solutions” was held with the participation of the Dean of the Kennedy School of Governance Prof. Lant Pintchett, Rector of the Kadir Has University Prof. Mustafa Aydın, Prof. Malik Mufti from Tufts University and the Director of Columbia University’s Earth Institute Prof. Rafael Flor.Kenya’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Amina Mohamed Jibril also addressed our Ambassadors.

The second session of the said panel will be held tomorrow and will be broadcast live on Youtube.

In the margins of the Conference, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also held bilateral meetings with his Chilean and Kenyan counterparts. In the meetings, bilateral relations and issues of cooperation were discussed.
