Foreign Minister Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia paid an official visit to Turkey on 7-9 September 2016 to show solidarity with Turkey after the failed coup attempt on 15 July. In the meetings held during the visit, bilateral and regional issues were discussed. Speaking at the joint press conference with Foreign Minister Al-Jubeir, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that the first meeting of the Turkish-Saudi Coordination Council will be held in Turkey in the coming months.
