The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers was held on 12-13 April 2016 in the margins of the 13th Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) taking place in İstanbul on 14-15 April 2016 with the theme “Unity and Solidarity for Justice and Peace”.

At the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, regional and international issues related to the Islamic world were discussed and Turkey took over the Presidency at the level of Foreign Ministers. In his speech at the meeting, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu stressed that Turkey will seek solutions to the problems faced by the Islamic world during its Presidency and that the Islamic world needs further unity and solidarity. In the margins of the meeting, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also had bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of member states.
