The developments concerning the fate of Saudi citizen and journalist
Mr. Jamal Khashoggi have been closely followed by our judicial,
security and intelligence authorities from the outset. The
investigation launched by our relevant authorities to determine his
fate has been continuing extensively.
Although consular premises are inviolable according to the Vienna
Convention on Consular Relations, the receiving state can conduct an
examination in these premises with the consent of the head of the
diplomatic mission. The Saudi authorities have notified that they are
open to cooperation in this regard and that the examination can be
conducted in their consular buildings in Istanbul.
Within the framework of the investigation, an examination will be conducted
in the said consular buildings.
