We achieve concrete results in our fight against the Fetullah Gülen Terorist
Organization’s (FETÖ) links abroad in cooperation with many other
countries. The fact that FETÖ poses a security risk not only against
Turkey, but against all countries it operates, is gradually becoming more
and more apparent.
Accordingly, following the decision of the Organization of Islamic
Cooperation, Pakistan has also recently declared FETÖ as a terrorist
organization. FETÖ linked schools have either been closed down, taken over
by the host country or transferred to the Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMV)
in over 20 countries in different parts of the world. Many countries,
including some in the Balkans, have deported FETÖ affiliated individuals.
There are also ongoing legal investigations against FETÖ elements in
numerous countries.
All these measures have been carried out within the legal framework of
these countries and in accordance with the rules of international law.
One of the basic requirements for countering terrorism is sincere
international cooperation based on legal principles.
Balkans is a region particularly dear to us and we attach importance to the
continuation of this solid approach by the countries of the region which
have taken measures against FETÖ, an existential threat against Turkey. We
call upon other partners and allies to display the same judicious approach,
instead of attempting to prevent measures against FETÖ.
