Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Tunisia upon the invitation of Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui of Tunisia.

On 22 December Minister Çavuşoğlu gathered with university students who learn Turkish and Turkish citizens in Tunisia.

Minister Çavuşoğlu thanked them for representing our culture and nation in the best way possible.

On 24 December, Monday, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with his counterpart Khemaies Jhinaoui.

At the meeting, the excellent level of Turkey-Tunisia relations and opportunities for our companies to carry out additional projects and to make investments to further improve our cooperation were discussed.

On the same day, President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia received Minister Çavuşoğlu.

At the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu extended President Erdoğan's greetings and stressed that our relations with friendly and brotherly Tunisia are in an excellent level.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also visited the International Maarif School of Tunisia and stated that Turkey is pleased that FETO affiliated schools in Tunisia have been closed and transferred to Turkey Maarif Foundation.

Finally, Prime Minister Youssef Chahed received Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu.

At the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed our confidence that after succeeding through tolerance and compromise its political transformation following the Jasmine Revolution, Tunisia will also undertake its economic break-through.
