After his visit to Belarus and Estonia Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Norway on 29-30 August 2019.
On 29 August 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Turkish citizens living in Norway.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that we were proud of their success stories in Norway and that being with our citizens abroad and serving them were among the priorities of our foreign policy.
On the same day Minister Çavuşoğlu visited Al Noor Mosque which was attacked in Oslo and wished speedy recovery.
Minister Çavuşoğlu thanked Norwegian authorities for their wise messages against Islamophobia and emphasized that we could overcome Islamophobia only if we all acted together.
On 30 August 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu visited the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs.
Minister Çavuşğolu emphasized that Turkey and Norway enjoying deep-rooted cooperation were important for security and defense of NATO and Europe.
Minister Çavuşoğlu shared the contributions to peace and stability and the “Enterprising and Humanitarian Foreing Policy” of our country which is located in a fragile and turbulent geography.
On the same day Minister Çavuşoğlu also visited in Oslo the headquarters of Equinor, the leading energy company of Norway.
Minister Çavuşoğlu listened to a briefing on its natural gas exploration activities in Thrace and had a live chat with the group conducting activities in Tekirdağ and wished them success.
Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met also with Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide of Norway.
At the meeting, bilateral relations of Turkey and Norway were discussed and both Ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues particularly the fight against terrorism, NATO, Syria and Iran.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that our bilateral economic and trade relations would be further enhanced.
