Visit of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Kazakhstan, 23-24 May 2019

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Kazakhstan on 23-24 May 2019, to attend the 5th meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group and hold bilateral meetings.

On 23 May 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu gathered with Ahiska Turks in Shymkent.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that he visited Shymkent to embrace our Ahiska Turk brothers and sisters and share together Ramadan’s blessings.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey would always stand by the Ahiska Turks wherever they are.

After the iftar program Minister Çavuşoğlu went to the capital Nur-Sultan.

On 24 May 2019 Minister Çavuşoğlu co-chaired the 5th Meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group with Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov of Kazakhstan.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that the meeting was held in a constructive and result-oriented atmosphere with the new Foreign Minister of brotherly Kazakhstan.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that our aim was to increase our trade volume first to 5 and then to 10 billion Dollars.

On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu was received by President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev.

Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we wished to hold the 4th Meeting of Turkey-Kazakhstan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council under the co-chairmanship of our Presidents after the elections in Kazakhstan.

Later that day Minister Çavuşoğlu was received also by Nursultan Nazarbayev, Founding President of Kazakhstan.

Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the wise leader of the Turkic world Nursultan Nazarbayev had become the Honorary President ad vitam of the Turkic Council by unanimous decision of the Heads of State of all the member countries, upon proposal of President Erdogan.
