Relations between Türkiye and Jamaica

Due to geographical distance, the relations between the two countries remained limited in the past. However, bilateral relations and cooperation within international organizations began to develop further, following Türkiye's outreach policy towards the Latin America and Caribbean region.

The Turkish Embassy in Havana is accredited to Jamaica. Türkiye has an Honorary Consulate in Kingston and Jamaica has one in Istanbul.

H.E. Arnold Nicholson, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, participated in the First Ministerial Meeting of the Consultation and Cooperation Mechanism between Türkiye-CARICOM held in Istanbul on 17-21 July 2014.

Türkiye’s main export items to Jamaica are plastic products, cables and dried fruits. Türkiye’s imports consist of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic beverages and volatile oils.
