Political Relations
Türkiye’s relations with Estonia are based on the “Treaty of Friendship and
Cooperation” signed on 1 December 1924. The occupation and annexation of
Estonia by the Soviet Union was never recognized by Türkiye. After the
collapse of the Soviet Union, diplomatic relations between the two
countries were re-established on 2 October 1991.
Türkiye's support for Estonia's NATO membership and Estonia’s support for
Türkiye's EU membership process further strengthened our cooperation.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Estonia on
1 February 2023.
