Relations between Turkey and Sao Tome and Principe

The Turkish Embassy in Libreville is accredited to Sao Tome and Principe, while Embassy of Sao Tome and Principe in Lisbon is accredited to Turkey. Turkey and Sao Tome and Principe have honorary consulates respectively in Sao Tome and Istanbul.

The President of the Republic of Turkey met his counterpart de Menezes in September 2008 on the margins of UN meetings. Sao Tome and Principe participated at the Turkey-Africa Cooperation Summit held in Istanbul, from 18 to 21 August 2008 with a delegation led by H.E. Mr. Carlos Alberto Pires Tiny, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities. Then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, H.E. Ahmet Davutoğlu, met with his counterpart, H.E. Natalia Pedro da Costa Umbelina Neto, on the margins of the African Union Summit on 30-31 January 2014. Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe, H.E. Trovoada paid a working visit to Turkey on 28-30 May 2015.

The trade volume between the two countries amounted to 511.000 USD in 2015 and to 631.000 USD as of November 2016.
