Relations Between Turkey and St. Vincent and Grenadines

Turkey is the fifth import partner of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Havana has been accredited to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in 1999. Turkish citizen Mr. Tansal Akçaylı, a resident in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, has been appointed as The Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kingstown on 8 October 2007.

The Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines H.E. Ralph Gonsalves paid an official visit to Turkey on 12-16 March 2006. This visit constituted the first official visit from St. Vincent and the Grenadines to Turkey on Prime ministerial level.

Governor General of St. Vincent and the Grenadines H.E. Sir Frederick Ballantyne participated in the 4th UN Least Developed Countries Summit which was held on 9-13 May 2011 in Istanbul. During the visit, H.E. Sir Ballantyne also had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Abdullah Gül.

The Agreement on the Mutual Abolition of Visas for the Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was signed on 11 July 2007 and it entered into force on 11 March 2008.
