QA-7, 18 February 2017, Statement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hüseyin Müftüoğlu, in Response to a question regarding the advisory motion of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium

We condemn the advisory motion of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium adopted on 16th February, 2017 about “Freezing Assistance provided to Turkey under IPA II and Turkey’s EU Accession Negotiations ”.

This motion, which was adopted unilaterally in national parliament, is far from contributing to mutual efforts for furthering relations between our country and the EU.

We do not recognize this motion of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium and we regret to observe that Belgian Parliamentarians are far from understanding what we have experienced during 15 July in our country and our fight against terrorism.
