In a news item published in a newspaper today, some points regarding the briefing to be given on 9 February 2012 by the Social Security Administration officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey about the implementation of the universal health insurance for foreigners living in Turkey have been raised.

The Note Verbale regarding the abovementioned meeting sent on 6 February 2012 was faxed to the resident Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of the International Organizations in Ankara in regard to the urgency of the matter. When it was understood that the Note Verbale has also been faxed to press organs due to a technical error, the necessary correction was promptly conveyed to them.

Contrary to what has been claimed in the news item, it is out of question that neither the Note Verbale nor the meeting were of a confidential nature.
