PRESS RELEASE OF THE IRAQ CRISIS DESK, 17 JUNE 2014

Due to the ongoing security crisis in Iraq, our safety warnings regarding this country are still in effect. In this context, we strongly recommend our citizens in Mosul, Kirkuk, Saladin, Diyala, Anbar, Baghdad and Basra to be vigilant for their life security and to leave these regions as soon as possible and urge all our citizens to abstain from visiting these regions.

Necessary efforts to ensure the return of the staff of our Consulate General in Mosul and of the 31 Turkish citizens kept in Geyara, Mosul, since 11 June, safely and as soon as possible are being conducted in a sensitive manner.

The Crisis Center, which is also staffed with personnel from other relevant institutions continues its work in the Ministry. It answers the questions and meets the demands from our Ministry as to the situation in Iraq and to our citizens in that country based on the currently available information. Calls to our Consular Call Centers are also automatically redirected to the Crisis Center.
