President Erdoğan paid an official visit to Pakistan on 16-17 November 2016. Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu also accompanied President Erdoğan during the visit.

Speaking at the joint press conference with Prime Minister Sharif of Pakistan after the meetings, President Erdoğan stressed that Turkey and Pakistan have always stood together in difficult times and that Pakistan proved to be a true friend of Turkey in the aftermath of the coup attempt.

President Erdoğan also addressed the joint session of the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan, and attended the meeting with executives of leading companies from Turkey and Pakistan with Prime Minister Sharif.
