On September 1, 2014, President H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid an official visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Paying his first official visit to the TRNC, President Erdoğan stressed that the TRNC’s sincere and resolute stance in the international arena will be discussed during his meetings. Recalling that the NATO Summit and the UN General Assembly will respectively be held next week and at the end of September, President Erdoğan said that “Cyprus will be an important agenda item at these meetings.”

President Erdoğan, pointing out that in two months, Turkey’s water will be carried under the sea to the TRNC, noted that the Greek Cypriots will receive the peace message from the steps Turkey is taking. President Erdoğan added that if Greece, as a guarantor country will do its part like Turkey, the Cyprus issue can be settled.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied the President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to the TRNC.
