H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Turkey will visit the Netherlands on 10-11 April 2019 upon the invitation
of H.E. Stef Blok, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the
Netherlands, to participate in the seventh meeting of the Turkish-Dutch
Bilateral (Wittenburg) Conference and to hold bilateral talks.
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2008
aiming at ensuring the enhancement of Turkish-Dutch bilateral relations and
the cooperation between Turkey and the Netherlands, the said Conferences
are alternately organized under the co-chairmanship of the Foreign
Ministers. The sixth and last meeting of the conferences took place in
Ankara on 14 February 2014.
Within the framework of the Seventh Wittenburg Conference, to be held on 11
April 2019, six working groups on “Fight Against Terrorism", "Regional
Developments", "Turkey-EU", "Turkish-Dutch Community", "Livable Cities" and
“Energy” will convene with participation and contribution from relevant
Ministries.
During the talks H.E. Minister Çavuşoğlu and his Dutch counterpart H.E.
Stef Blok will have an exchange of views on Turkey-EU relations and
regional and international developments, as well as issues pertaining to
bilateral relations.
H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will also officially inaugurate the Turkish Consulate
General in Amsterdam, meet with Turkish and Dutch business circles and come
together with the representatives of the Turkish community in the
Netherlands.
Meetings of our Minister as well as the seventh Turkish-Dutch Bilateral
(Wittenburg) Conference will contribute to further developing bilateral
relations with the Netherlands which are on a positive track and to
diversifying mutual cooperation.
