H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Turkey will visit the United States to participate in the NATO Foreign
Ministers’ Meeting in Washington D.C. on 3-4 April 2019, to be held on the
70th Anniversary of the founding of the Alliance.
At the meeting, Allied Ministers of Foreign Affairs will discuss the
importance of the Transatlantic bond as well as of allied solidarity and
coherence. They are also expected to underline the significance of
preserving NATO’s ability to respond to contemporary security challenges,
building on past experiences.
During his visit to the United States, Minister Çavuşoğlu will hold
bilateral meetings in Washington, D.C. and gather with Turkish-American
community, business circles, local authorities as well as representatives
of the Muslim community in New York, Miami and North Carolina.
Minister Çavuşoğlu will also participate in the UN General Assembly meeting
and address the Assembly on the occasion of the presentation of a resolution
upon the initiative of a group of countries led by Turkey to condemn the
recent terrorist attacks in New Zealand against Muslims and to take
necessary measures against such acts.
