No: 187, 25 June 2019, Press Release Regarding the “Turkey-Germany 6th Joint Working Group Meeting on Migration”

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Yavuz Selim Kıran will visit Berlin on 26 June 2019 and together with the State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office H.E. Antje Leendertse, will co-chair the 6th Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Migration which was established between Turkey and Germany in October 2015.

During this meeting, migration cooperation between Turkey-Germany and Turkey-EU as well as irregular migration trends will be addressed and there will be exchange of views on irregular migration faced by our countries, burden and responsibility sharing with regard to migration and international protection.

Turkey, as one of the most important partners of Europe in the field of migration, will continue migration dialogue with Germany and the EU.

On the occasion of this visit, Deputy Foreign Minister will also meet Annette Widmann-Mauz, Minister for Migration, Refugees and Integration; Markus Kerber, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Jan Hecker, Chancellor Merkel's Foreign Policy Advisor, to address various aspects of bilateral relations between our countries, mainly regarding the Turkish community in Germany, as well as regional issues.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kıran will also meet with the civil society organizations and our citizens during the visit.
