22 of the Iraqi Turkmens injured in the attack, which was perpetrated by the DAESH terrorist organization on 9 March 2016 in Tazehurmatu district of Kirkuk, and during which chemical agents were reportedly used, had been brought to Turkey on 24 March. Upon the completion of their treatment, 20 of them had returned to their country on 6 April. One of our kinsmen, whose treatment is ongoing, is still in Turkey with a companion.

This time, 68 injured persons, among whom 21 are children and 3 persons are seriously injured, were brought to Turkey last night together with their 15 companions and taken to Polatlı State Hospital of Ankara. Their examination and medical treatment were immediately initiated under the supervision of specialists.

As always, Turkey will continue to embrace the Iraqi Turkmens, whom it regards as its brothers, in their difficult times.

On this occasion, we wish once more God’s mercy upon our kinsmen who lost their lives in the inhumane attack perpetrated by the DAESH terrorist organization towards Tazehurmatu, convey our condolences to their bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
