We condemn the murder of a mother, father and three children of the same family, including a three-month old baby in an attack that took place on 12 March in the Itimar Jewish settlement in the West Bank near the city of Nablus.

Israel’s settlement activities in the West Bank constitute a clear breach of international law. The enlargement or reinforcement of settlements cannot be accepted under any pretext. However, irrespective of their motivations, such terrorist activities, in which the most fundamental human right, that is, the right to live is violated and innocent children targeted are also unacceptable.

We hope that the perpetrators of this attack are arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible.
