We have learned with deep sorrow that a bomb attack was perpetrated against Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) President Arshad al-Salihi's motorcade in the Kirkuk Province of Iraq today (19 February). We are relieved by the fact that Arshad al-Salihi survived this attack without any injury. We condemn the attack, which is aimed at spreading violence by creating strife among different ethnic, religious and sectarian groups; express our sympathies to the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) President Arshad al-Salihi and to the entire Turkmen community and people of Iraq.

It is important that in order to achieve peace and stability in Iraq, perpetrators of such heinous attacks should be found and brought to justice as soon as possible.
