We have learned with deep sorrow that three security officers and four doctors, three of whom are Syrians and one of whom is a Somali national, have been killed in the armed attack which was perpetrated today (18 December 2013), against a group of healthcare personnel in Mogadishu.

The terror has shown its villainous face this time in the field of healthcare, which is one of the vital needs of Somali people, by aiming at the healthcare personnel who were conducting their work with devotion. We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to their families and wish a speedy recovery to those wounded in this heinous attack.

Turkey will continue to do its part to ensure that friendly and brotherly Somalia regains peace and stability and to stand resolutely by the people of Somalia.
