Ambassador Mehmet Paçacı is appointed by Slovakia, who has taken over the
2019 Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in
Europe (OSCE), as the Personal Representative on Combating Intolerance and
Discrimination against Muslims. Ambassador Mehmet Paçacı will take over
this task from Prof. Dr. Bülent Şenay, who held the Personal Representative
position during the three previous OSCE Chairmanships.
Turkey is contributing effectively to the politico-military,
economic-environmental and human dimension activities of the OSCE, which is
the world’s largest regional security organization with 57 participating
States.
Turkey attaches particular importance to the efforts of international
organizations, including the OSCE, aiming at preventing rising trends such
as intolerance, xenophobia, racism, and Islamophobia in the context of
current challenges arising from regional instability, irregular migration
flows and increased terror threats.
Within the framework of our efforts to combat intolerance and
discrimination against Muslims, we welcome Ambassador Mehmet Paçacı’s
appointment by the OSCE Chairmanship.
