No: 119, 15 April 2014, Press Release Regarding the Joint Working Group Meeting to be Held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the People’s Republic of China

The third meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) set up in Beijing on 25 June 2009, under the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China” will be held in Ankara on 16-17 April 2014 between the delegations co-chaired by H.E. Ambassador Feridun Sinirlioğlu, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and H.E. Zhang Yesui, Executive Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China.

In the framework of the JWG, comprehensive consultations on bilateral and regional issues will be held under the co-chairmanship of Directors General and Deputy Directors General from our Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC on 16 April 2014, and a general evaluation meeting between the delegations headed by H.E. Sinirlioğlu and H.E.. Zhang will be held on 17 April 2014.

The consultations will provide an opportunity for exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as the on the bilateral relations at the level of strategic partnership between Turkey and the People’s Republic of China.

Executive Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui will also be received by H.E. Ali Babacan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey on 17 April 2014. While visiting İzmir on 18 April 2014, he will pay a courtesy visit to Mr. Mustafa Toprak, Governor of İzmir.
