Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire Charles Koffi Diby, is paying an official visit Turkey on 15-17 December 2014 upon the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkey, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

At the meetings held during the first Foreign Ministerial visit from Côte d'Ivoire to Turkey, steps that may be taken in order to develop bilateral relations in every possible field were extensively reviewed and potential areas of cooperation were discussed.

Speaking at a joint press conference after the meetings held by the Foreign Ministers and between the delegations, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that they evaluated steps that may be taken to develop economic and technical cooperation, and also discussed recent regional and global developments with particular focus on the African continent.

Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire Diby, on the other hand, expressed that he made numerous contacts during his visit in order to develop trade cooperation between the two countries and stated that there are currently 18 Turkish companies operating in Côte d'Ivoire and they aim to increase this number to 500 in the shortest possible time.
