The Extraordinary Meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers was held in İstanbul, 13 December 2017

The Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held an extraordinary meeting in Istanbul on 13 December 2017.

The Meeting was organized in preparation to the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Islamic Summit Conference which is being held the same day in Istanbul upon the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in order to consider the developments in the wake of US President’s unlawful recognition of the city of Al-Quds as the so-called capital of Israel, the Occupying Power.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu, in his capacity as the Chair of the Foreign Ministers Meeting, has emphasized in his opening address that the Muslim world must stand strong and courageous by the brotherly people and the state of Palestine in their rightful cause.

At the opening, alongside Minister Çavuşoğlu, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi of Jordan, Foreign Minister Riad Malki of Palestine and OIC Secretary General Yousef Al-Othaimeen also addressed the Meeting.
