
Governor-General Jerry Mateparae of New Zealand is paying a state visit to Turkey at the invitation of President of Turkey, H.E. Abdullah Gül.
As part of the visit, on April 22, 2014 in Ankara, President Gül and Governor-General Mateparae of New Zealand headed meetings where all aspects of bilateral relations were discussed and views were exchanged on regional and international issues that concern both countries.
Speaking at the joint press conference, President Gül recalled that the goal of furthering the relations was set with the joint statement issued by the Prime Ministers of the two countries in 2010 and said “An agreement on mutual tax exemption has been signed between two countries. We hope that mutual incentive and guarantee for investments agreements will be signed soon. Our trade volume is not sufficient, we can elevade this. We attribute great importance to activities from all other fields”.
Governor-General Jerry Mateparae of New Zealand also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu.
