Accompanying President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to Brussels, Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioğlu met today with Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO.

In the meeting, views were exchanged on the military presence of the Russian Federation in Syria, including the violation of Turkish airspace by Russian aircrafts.

Reaffirming NATO’s responsibility on Turkey’s security, Secretary General Stoltenberg underlined that North Atlantic Council Meeting would convene today in the afternoon to discuss the latest developments. Secretary General Stoltenberg also stressed NATO’s solidarity with Turkey against violations of Turkish airspace.
