Foreign Minister Davutoğlu “Your pain is our pain and your future is our future”

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu paid a visit to Gaza together with the Secretary General of the Arab League, Nabil El-Arabi and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the twelve Arab states.

Foreign Minister Davutoglu, during the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Unity Government, Ismail Haniyeh, stressed that Turkish people will always stand by the Palestinian people and said “Your pain is our pain and your future is our future. Pain of the lost ones in Palestine open larger wounds in the hearts of 75 million people in Anatolia.”

“With our visit to Gaza we want to give a clear message to the international community: You can keep quiet against the Israeli atrocities, even you can make statements to legitimize these atrocities. However, keep in mind that the conscience of humanity and the history will never accept this atrocity. The Arab world, the Islamic world and Turkey will stand shoulder to shoulder against Israeli atrocities” said Foreign Minister Davutoğlu. Besides, he stated that Turkey requested an end to the Israeli occupation and the lifting of the embargo imposed on the region, underlining that Turkey opposed the atrocities committed in Gaza.

“The darkest hour is just before the dawn. Palestinian people; we are so close to the daylight”, said Foreign Minister Davutoglu addressing the Palestinians.

Within the scope of the Gaza visit, Foreign Minister Davutoglu and Foreign Ministers of the Arab states visited Shifa Hospital and received information concerning the people wounded at the Israeli attacks.
