Foreign Minister Davutoğlu meets with the representatives of the Syrian community in the USA.

Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey who is in New York to attend the UN General Assembly met with the representatives of the Syrian community in the USA upon their requests on September 21, 2013.

At the meeting, the members of Syrian delegation thanked Turkey for its principled stance from the very beginning of the crisis and its comprehensive support to the Syrian people and stated that Turkey will be the most important contributor to establishing peace, stability, and democracy in future Syria and the solidarity shown by Turkey despite the difficulties will never be forgotten.

Foreign Minister Davutoğlu referring to the special historical ties between Turkey and Syria said that Turkey cannot turn a blind eye to the sufferings of the brotherly Syrian people. Maintaining that Syrian people will win their legitimate struggle for an honorable life sooner or later Foreign Minister Davutoğlu pointed out the enormous destruction of the Assad’s massacres and the crisis and added that Syrian people are strong enough to overcome every challenge. Mr. Davutoğlu emphasized that Turkey will continue to support Syrian people in the future as it is today.
