Foreign Minister Davutoğlu in New York

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu who is in New York to have contacts in line with the objective of our multidimensional foreign policy of reaching out to different regions of the world, met with Permanent Representatives of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) at a working lunch on April 3, 2014.

Representatives of Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia, St Vincent and Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Dominica and Jamaica in New York attended the working lunch. Talking about Turkish foreign policy, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu mentioned Turkey’s contributions to Latin America and Caribbean region and said that Turkey’s interest to the region will be maintained also in the forthcoming period.

Foreign Minister Davutoğlu also addressed the Permanent Representatives of the African Group at the African Union Mission. Stating that the African Continent is both geographically and culturally very close to Turkey, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu gave information about the Turkish foreign policy towards Africa.

Touching upon the Turkey’s major activities in some African countries, Foreign Minister Davutoğlu emphasized stated that Turkey’s relations with Africa is a success story and these relations must be further developed.
