Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu paid a visit to Azerbaijan on 3 December 2016 upon the invitation of Foreign Minister Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan.

In the meetings held during the visit, bilateral relations, the developments regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well as regional and international issues were discussed.

Speaking at the joint press conference with Foreign Minister Mammadyarov, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu welcomed the measures taken by Azerbaijan against FETO and stated that the fight against this terrorist organization will continue. He also stressed that bilateral cooperation with friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan will be further strengthened.
