Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan who paid official visits to Algeria, Mauritania, Senegal and Mali between February 26th and March 2nd.

On February 26, Monday evening, President Erdoğan arrived in Algeria, the first leg of the Africa tour.

At the meeting headed by President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia of Algeria, the common will to further enhance Turkey-Algeria cooperation in every field, particularly in economy, energy and fight against terrorism was underlined.

Following the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu and his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Messahel signed the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between Diplomacy Academies of Foreign Ministries of Turkey and Algeria.

On February 27, Tuesday, President Erdoğan received Said Bouhadja, President of National People’s Assembly of Algeria.

On the same day, The Business Forum was organized. It is expected that the Business Forum will increase bilateral trade volume of 3.5 billion USD, as well as Turkish investments that reached the same amount in Algeria, one of Turkey’s largest trading partners in Africa.

President Erdoğan met with President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria.
