Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference on 16-18 February 2018.

On the sidelines of the Conference, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with United Nations Special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, and reiterated Turkey’s commitment to the political solution for Syria.

During his meeting with Foreign Minister Erlan Abyldaev of Kyrgyzstan, Minister Çavuşoğlu reiterated Turkey’s expectations from brotherly Kyrgyzstan in the fight against FETO terrorist organization.

Minister Çavuşoğlu and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel of Germany exchanged views on steps for further improving Turkey-Germany relations.

Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati of Albania. Two Ministers discussed bilateral relations and regional issues on the common agenda of Turkey and Albania.

At the Munich Security Conference panel on Middle Eastern issues, entitled “Widening Gulf”, Minister Çavuşoğlu evaluated the current situation in the region and the period ahead; underlined the importance of common efforts and mediation for peace, stability and prosperity.
