Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Laos on 7-8 November, 2018.

On 7 November, Wednesday, Minister Çavuşoğlu made the official inauguration of the Turkish Embassy in Vientiane. Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey ranks 5th in the world with its 241 missions abroad.

As the first Turkish Foreign Minister visiting Laos, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith on 8 November. On the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Turkey - Laos diplomatic relations, all aspects of Turkey-Laos bilateral relations were evaluated at the meeting.

After the meeting, Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic Passports was signed.

On the same day Minister Çavuşoğlu was received by Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith.
