Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu concluded his visit to New York for the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly.

On September 27th, 2018 Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the Foreign Ministerial of MIKTA. Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the work of MIKTA, which brings together Australia, Indonesia, Mexico, South Korea and Turkey has matured and it is time to carry its activities to the leaders’ level.

Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the annual meeting of the UN Group of Friends of Mediation co-chaired by Turkey under the theme “Youth and Mediation”. Minister Çavuşoğlu underlined that the fresh perspective of the youth will significantly add a new dimension to works on mediation.

At UNRWA’s working lunch, which Turkey co-hosted, Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that Turkey made an additional contribution of 10 million USD in 2018 to help overcome the financial shortfall, and that Turkey’s support and contributions will continue in the period ahead.

Following the meetings Minister Çavuşoğlu also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi of the People’s Republic of China, Foreign Minister Margot Wallström of Sweden, Foreign Minister Dr. Mamadou Tangara of the Gambia, Foreign Minister Alpha Barry of Burkina Faso and Foreign Minister Sven Mikser of Estonia.
