Deputy Minister Koru stressed the role of NGOs in the solution of the problems of Turkish citizens living abroad

Ambassador Naci Koru, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the Second Education Program on NGO Capacity Enhancement, organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities.

Referring to the problems of Turkish citizens living abroad such as family reunification, dual-citizenship, education in native language, Deputy Minister Koru in this context underlined that racism and xenophobia are still an important problem in some European countries.

“We need more NGOs which are expert in their field and active at national and international level” said Deputy Minister Koru underlining the role of NGOs in the solution of the problems.

Stating that the large number of active NGOs reflects richness, Deputy Minister Koru on the other hand drew attention to the importance of working together on main issues like education in native language, fight against racism and xenophobia, family reunification, guardianship, dual citizenship as well as protection of Turkish values and culture.
