Deputy Foreign Minister Koru meets with Deputy Foreign Minister Arosemena of Panama

On April 14, 2014, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Naci Koru met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Mayra Arosemena who paid a visit to Turkey on the occasion of the opening of Embassy of Panama in Ankara, at a working lunch. Deputy Undersecretary of Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador, Ahmet Muhtar Gün and Deputy Undersecretary of Minister of Transportation, Suat Hayri Aka also participated in the meeting.

Deputy Foreign Minister Koru pointed out that Turkey attaches importance to develop its relations with the Central American countries and in this regard, besides the Turkish Embassy in Panama City, Turkey will open two new embassies in the region in forthcoming period. Expressing his pleasure that the Air Transport Agreement which lays the legal basis for the cooperation between the national airline companies of the two countries was signed on the occasion of the visit, Deputy Foreign Minister Koru also proposed to conclude a cooperation agreement between the Diplomatic Academies of the two Foreign Ministries.

Guest Deputy Foreign Minister shared information about the work concerning the Embassy of Panama to be opened in Ankara following the Turkish Embassy in Panama opened in March 2014. Referring the infrastructure investments in her country she invited Turkish investors and businessmen to Panama.
