The Visit By The President Of The Federal Republic Of Germany To Turkey (Unofficial Translation) No:33 - March 9, 2000

The President of the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Johannes Rau will pay an offical visit to Turkey on 5-8 April 2000, upon the invitation of the President of Turkey, H.E. Süleyman Demirel

The visiting President will meet the Turkish President , the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, H.E. Yıldırım Akbulut and receive the Prime Minister H.E. Bülent Ecevit.

During the visit, the German President will be awarded the Order of State of the Turkish Republic.

At the talks between the delegations to be headed by the two Presidents , all aspects of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues are expected to be taken up.

This first official visit at the highest level from Germany , after a long time, will pave the way for further enhancement of the existing Turkish- German relations.
